About the RAM 2500
The Ram 2500 is a three-quarter-ton heavy-duty pickup built for towing and payload beyond what a half-ton truck offers, available with a gas V8 or the Cummins inline-six diesel depending on year and trim. Four-wheel-drive versions use a solid front axle rather than the independent front suspension found on half-ton trucks, and the rear suspension is coil-sprung on 2014-and-newer 2500s (the 3500 keeps leaf springs). It is common in trailer-towing, equipment-hauling, and heavy work-truck use.
